PRIVACY LEVELS

The privacy level or shade is proportionate to the amount of visible light the film allows to pass through the glass. The lower the number the darker the shade. We stock 5% 15% 20% 30% 35% 43% 50% in the Standard CS Line and 5% 15% 20% 30% 35% and 45% in Ceramic XR. Due to high cost of XR PLUS, we do not stock it but it can be special ordered. For a reference, 20% matches most factory tint on newer trucks and suvs. 35% is the darkest legal on cars and the front doors of trucks in WV/MD. We do have an extensive display setup in our showroom to help you make the right decision so shades do not need to be decided prior to your appointment. Also note that a meter is used by the state police and most inspection stations. Most films will meter about 5% darker once applied to the vehicle due to the small amount of factory tint in the glass.

Some things to consider in regard to shades

          DARK TINT

Typically 5% 15% and even 20% would be considered dark tint. These films do an excellent job of privacy and glare reduction. But they can also be difficult to see out of

in certain light conditions. These can be a good option if you have a high sensitivity to light or you like to pick your nose while driving.

Tip: The police love these shades of film!

          MEDIUM TINT

Medium would be 30% 35% and 45%.

These films do a great job of cutting down on glare and reducing harmful UV rays. They also give your vehicle a sleek, classy look without obstructing your view in low light condtions. A great choice for just about anyone!

Tip: 35% is the limit on most vehicles.

            LIGHT TINT

Anything 50% and above would certainly be considered light tint. With the advancedments in window film technology you can actually achieve the same or higher levels of heat rejections with a light tint as you would have with a dark tint a few years ago. These films are often used for full windshield tinting to reduce glare or for someone that wants the benifits of window film without the dark look.

Tip: Full windshield tinting is awesome!!
